I decided to take a day trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake for this August. It will be a fun weekend get-away~~

Planning

I find myself very dumb-founded when I arrive to a traveling place and I hate wasting time when I am travelling, so I planned well ahead using Power Point and Tripadviser app. I reserved some events ahead and winery I wanted to go is only-reservation. So, please adviced you need to book ahead. Also, you don’t wnat to be going back and forth on a day trip, so order your trip places well.

Here is the powerpoint slide of my travel plan to Niagra-on-the Lake.

Getting There

Getting there was a little bit of challenge. I went to Union Station and got on the VIA train and at Via station. After that, I hopped on WEGO (local travel bus). I had to get another bus at floral clock, which pays seperately from WEGO. You can buy this ticket at the snack shop at Floral Clock at $13 round trip. Then, you are at Downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake after 8 minutes of walk.

Nigara-on-the-Lake (Downtown)

Here is two views of downtown Niagara-on-the-lake. On your left is the traditional hotel and the right is clock tower that signify the region. It is beutiful scenary in Summer so I got some photos to brag about. The twon was beutifullly decorated and traveller freindly.

Afternoon Tea (at Prine of Wales Hotel)

It was my first meal of the day so I decided to have a big brunch. (I was so hungry.) Afternoon tea at Prince of Whales Hotel was so cute, one person $55. I reserved a table a head of time. (They don’t accept walk-in customers) The teapot was so huge, and that’s for per person. Their desserts and sandwiches were tasting goood. The place was very classically designed, telling how old it was and how much history it has. I enjoyed it very much. Tea cups and pots were so cute and servers who dressed up like maids were very nice. It is worth it!

Cow’s icecream

Everyone was lining up here and I wasited in line to get it. I decided to get mango tango and it is very best ice-cream. The place has goods of its own too. Try it when you get there. It is a chain icecream from USA. (It melts so quickly during summer.)

Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe

There was a candy shop nearby. It absolutely had everything you can think of when you think of candies: from US candies to Asian ones. You can buy by wieght or by itself. So fun to look around and fill up your crave for snacks.

Lavender Farm (NEOB)

I grabbed an uber and headed to farm side of niagara on the lake. This farm was small scale but had everthing you need. You can buy lavender goods, do flower picking, and of course, take photoes here and there. I bought a lavendar soap from here. 3 wild flowers are free to pick, if you want like a bunch you need to pay $10. Reasonable price, good. No lavender picking season so I had to leave with wild flowers.

Trius Winary

This is best place ever in niagara-on-the-lake. I reserved a tour, becuase they don’t allow walk-in customers. ($50) It had the most beutiful photo walls and amazing tasting wines. (from red to sparkling) You can also acess the vineyard and more. The guide was amazingly knowledgaable about farm and wine and it was a great expereince knwoing how those wines are produced. Very freindly and you can also buy wines in cheaper price at gift shop.

Niagara Outlet

So, it was getting late and I decieded to go one more place before we go home via train. This outlet was so good priced I wanted to buy things but I got no time so I just had a ealry dinner at eatery. I came back home before 9, which is very good.

Summary

It was a great day-trip to Niagara-on-the-lake-mix of farm and tranditional town. I felt so great travelling here and I recommmand it.

Thank you.

P.S. You should get the Paddle boat expereince too on the lake side. I reserved and could not go due to limping.
