Trip to 419 King Street W., Oshawa using Go Train for shopping at GTA
Getting There
Oshawa is the farthest end of Greater Toronto Area on Lakeshore East of GO train. Take Lakeshore East GO from Union and you should get there in 40 minutes. Then you take the regional bus, right beside the GO rail. They also accept prestos, which is convenient. Take Route 902B and in 5 stops it takes you to Oshawa Centre. Then, you enter any gate but remember to get back to gate 5, the closest gate to the bus terminal.
Indigo Bookstore
First thing you see when you enter the center through gate 5 is Indigo bookstore. I have been to many indigo stores in Toronto but this was largest store I have ever seen. They sell books and stationary and interior things. When you enter the store, there is wall with a quote and some mirrors that you can take pictures from. I wanted to get spraying sunscreen and espresso kettle, but I ended up not getting it. It was very well-organized with staff picks on books. Very cute looking things are filled there. Visit and it will take hours to look at detail. Here are some photos.
Little Burgundy Shoes and Zara
Then, I looked around here and there to shopping with my eyes. Little Burgundy came to my eyes with a pair of brown high-top converse shoes. You know converse is very classic thing to go with any kinds of clothing. And, I did not have that color so I really wanted to get them, but it was bothering that the price went up. It jumped from 70-80 dollars to 100 dollars after Covid19. But, you still need to buy what you need to buy, right? I shop here often and I thought I would get it online sometime.
Finally, I went to Zara, which is rare to see in GTA area for some reasons. Sale was on, but it was at the end of the it so not much things were there. New arrivals for fall looked very tropical like but it was too fancy to wear everyday. They deduct the price of sale so much that I got a pair of pants and a top for $25, that is almost a giveaway. I won’t say much about Zara because it is such a worldwide store and everybody shops there everyday.
Food
That’s what I ate. It was a filling Chinese food at the food court. (I don’t call recall exactly, Shanghai something). I ordered spicy beef, rice and grilled shrimp. It was so good combination and I finished them all on the spot. The orange smoothie from big orange was so great, it was best smoothie of this summer. (although, there was a long wait for it) For dessert, I had Cinnabon stix. It comes with 5 sticks and you can add icing to it, which I did not do for diet purposes. They warmed it up and it taste very good. It was just right, not too sweet or too greasy, great for light dessert after lunch.
Summary
It was a short trip so it did not affect my daily duties. It is a great trip to go to if you come to east GTA area and want to shop. The mall was so huge; you need to walk a lot so wear sneakers. Nothing special. But, it was less tiring than going to a new place to travel. It was great refreshment experience from my side.
Thanks.
