Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)

On September 15, 2022, I went to Tiff and watched A Man of Reason directed by Woo Sung Jung.

@ Scotiabank Theatre Toronto (259 Richmond St. W)

Before the movie

The theatre was 8min walk from Osgood TTC station so it was very convenient to find. It was almost like the whole area is celebrating TIFF, filled with posters and goods. Once you get into the theatre, there is a big escalator to the cinemas and there are some bars and food stores. I got salt and butter pop corn and chocolates shake (450 cal, I know it is extra workout to-do).

The movie

My movie, A Man of Reason, was played at cinema #1 at 1:00pm. I had no work that day so it was quiet and nice, still a lot of people came considering it was Thursday afternoon. Before movie starts, Jung Woo Sung, the director and protagonist of the movie did a short greeting on the stage. The actor was taller than I thought. It was first time seeing a movie star for me. It was a exciting experience!!

The movie was very well made. Thriller and crime themed. A lot of sound and visual effects caught my eyes the whole time I was watching. I really liked that there were lot of car scenes that was very realistic and exciting. You should go watch it too! That was end of the TIFF.

Food

Mara-soup @Zhanliang spicy hotpot (5437 Yonge street)

I went up to Finch station, near my house and that is Chinese spicy soup I take out from North York branch. It was delicious, even to me who does not like spicy soup or Chinese spices. It was famous shop after all.

You can choose ingredients in amount you want in a bowl and they charge you by weight. I ordered too much and I ended up getting $30 worth of soup. lol Don’t get it too much, like me. Do no underestimate what you are putting it. It doubles when they cook.

It is your preference of course on ingredients you want in a soup but this is what I included:

fuzuk, dried tofu strips, bean sprouts, cheese rice cake, flat sweet-potato noodles, cabbage, bok choy, black mushroom, ham, small eggs, beef strips.

This is recipe suggested by the internet by a blogger who eats it often.

@ Basil Box

That is chicken Pad Thai I got on the next day after shopping for an outfit at Sheppard center. It was healthier version of Thai-Express. The cilantro was very fresh and I liked that corn was included. I finished on the spot outside bench on the way home from the shopping. If you are watching weight, I think it would be a nice meal to have.

Thanks for reading and that’s it for the week.
